Darcie B. Eklund

Rockford—Darcie Beth Eklund of Rockford died Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Born October 17, 1966 to Bruce and Paula (Stinson) Eklund. A graduate of Jefferson High School. Darcie worked as a Porter for Balley's Fitness Center. A member of First Free Church and co-founder of First Free Special Ministries. Member of Rockford Special Olympics.

Survivors; Parents, Bruce and Paula; brothers, Douglas (Cheryl), Derek (Dana) and Dustin (Julie); nieces and nephews, Ashley, Natalie, Kyle, Bayley, Colten, Austin and Aydin. Best friend Debbie Stewart; numerous Aunts, uncles and cousins. Darcie's family wish to thank Fair Oaks Healthcare and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care of Darcie.

Funeral Service 11 am, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at First Free Church 2223 N Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation 4 to 7 Friday, February 28, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Mulford Chapel) 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at First Free Church from (9:30 to 10:45 am). In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Darcie's family for an establishment to be named at a later date.
