Darlene C. Bloomgren

Darlene Charlotte Bloomgren, 81, Rockford, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, in SwedishAmerican Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 16, 1932, in Rockford, the daughter of Frank and Bernice Feeley. Darlene married Dennis Bloomgren, in Rockford, on August 27, 1954. She attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Darlene was a member of the Navy Club Auxiliary, the Elida Lodge, the LLL Society, and the USBC (United States Bowling Congress) for over 25 years. She was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan and enjoyed going to the casinos.
Survived by her children, Debra (Kevin) Ahmer of Fond du Lac, WI, Denise (Bob) Fertig of Rockford, and Dean (Lori) Bloomgren of South Beloit; her grandchildren, Jennie (fiancé, Jeremy Raymond) Roy, Jessica (Brian) Shields, and Jill (Charlie) Baugh; her great-grandchildren, Abby and Morgan Shields, and Payton Baugh; her very special friend, Bernie Johnson and his daughter, Denise Johnson and sons, Jay and Stephen, and his son that passed away, Scott. Predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Dennis, her parents and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford.
