Derek Edward Stapley

Derek Edward Stapley 85, of Rockford passed away Monday March 3, 2014 in OSF St Anthony Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1928 in Ashford, Kent, England. He graduated from Brighton Technical Institute with an engineering degree. He married Doris on March 27, 1954 in England. He came to Rockford in 1966. He worked as the Manager of Research and Development for Sundstrand Machine Tool. Derek was a member of Rock Valley Flyers Club and ASME.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, son Peter (Mary) Stapley, nieces and nephews, Barry John Marshall, Lynne Gregg, Colin Stapley and Netta Stapley. Derek was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Stapley, sister Doreen and brother Norman.
