Dolores Adelaide Barr

Dolores Adelaide Barr, 84, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born April 25, 1930, in South Beloit, the daughter of Leander and Vivian (Lighthart) Epperson. Dolores married William Barr in Rockford on December 25, 1946. He passed away on June 13, 1980. She was an active member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for more than 60 years. Dolores volunteered at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose, Rockford Lodge and was a Girl Scout leader when her daughters were younger. She and her husband, Bill, enjoyed bowling and square dancing when they were younger.
Survived by her daughters, Linda (Curtis) Knapp of Pecatonica, Diana (Mike) Burke of Rockford, Marjorie (Buddy) Lake of Roscoe, and Patricia (Jeff) Harris of Cameron Park, CA; her son, Bill (Dianna) Barr of Rockford; grandchildren ,Rachel (Adam) Viel, Amy (Jason) Myers, Jackie (John) Perell, Kelly (Nate) Adrian, Carrie Burke, Tim (Brooke) Lake, Tom (Ramona) Lake, Todd (Jana) Lake, Mike Harris, Breanne (Scott) McPherson, Elyse Harris, Samantha Barr and Ryan Barr; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandra (John) Kopp of Roscoe; sister-in-law, Margaret Epperson. Predeceased by her husband, Bill; her parents; her son-in-law, Mike Burke;1 brother and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2014, with Reverend Gary Turner of New Life Bible Church officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford and from 9:30 A.M. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the OSF Center for Cancer Care, 5666 E.
