Donald "Don" Badura

Donald P. "Don" Badura, 80, Rockford, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. He was born August 23, 1933, in Freeport, the son of Paul and Beulah (Staas) Badura. Don married Rose LaMay in Rockford on January 22, 1994. He was a veteran of the Army. Don worked as a quality control engineer at Sundstrand Corporation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Blackhawk Athletic Club and a past member of the LLL Society. Don coached little league baseball, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed going to the racetrack with best friend, Allen LaMay. But most of all, Don loved his family.
Survived by his wife, Rose; his son, Steve Badura; his daughter, Kathy (Doug) Bruggeman; his grandchildren, Dustan & Devan Bruggeman; his step-children, Tom, Brenda, Carl Jr. (Tracy), Deanna (Joe) and Victoria; step –grandchildren, Brad, Christine, Tyler, Brock, Brodie, Brook, Abby, Emily, Tayler, Sylas, Latrayce, Shamar and Gabriel; his loving sister, Betty Perkins. Special thanks to our very dear friends, SanDee, Doug and Tyler for their love and support during the many difficult times. A special part of Don's life were his dogs, Pumpkin and Max. Predeceased by his parents, his son, Dale, and 3 sisters. Thank you to Brightside Services for their care and compassion to Don.
Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
