Dorothy Margaret Harrison, 86, of Rockford passed away March 11, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Born November 30, 1922 in Oak Park, the daughter of John Walter and Margaret (Herrmann) Hildebrand. She moved to Rockford in 1942 after a brief stint as a bomb tester at Elwood Ordinance Plant. She worked at WREX-TV, Twin Disc Clutch and Shelter Care Ministries retiring in 1986. She was a girl scout leader, a Pink Lady at St. Anthony Hospital, a member of Altar guild and St. Marys Guild of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the Rockford Jazz Society. She loved people, her dogs, jazz, opera and ice cream.



She is survived by her daughters Linda Harrison of Ft. Atkinson, WI and Gail Lein of Rockford. Granddaughters Anneliese (Travis) Pickering of Ft. Atkinson, WI; Ruth (Tom) Agron of Miami, FL and Raleigh, NC and Dorothy (Jacob) Rush of Rockford. Great-granddaughters Grace Pickering, Gabriella Agron and her very special friend of many years Guy J. Fiorenza of Rockford. She was predeceased by her parents and granddaughter Jocelyn Stanley. The family would like to thank Dr. Nora and Dr. Barteau and staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.



Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
