Dorothy C. Wendell

Dorothy C. Wendell, 88, Rockford, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 after a sudden illness. She was born in Rockford on May 30, 1924; the daughter of Paul F. and Anna (Carlene) Johnson. Dorothy married John Wendell in 1942; he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dorothy enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, bowling and was meticulous about her yard work. She is survived by her son, John (Barb) Wendell; daughters, Pat (Steve) Jones and Janice (Matt) Petsch; 13 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; 1 greatgreat grandchild. Predeceased by her parents; husband, John; daughters, Judy Wallschlaeger and Phyllis Ross; 4 brothers and granddaughter, Theresa Wendell.Memorial service at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
