Edward R. Hayes, 74, Rockford, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sterling IL. on June 11, 1938; the son of Edward and Hazel (Gang) Hayes. Ed attended the University of Illinois and earned his bachelors degree in engineering. He married Pamela Crowell on July 8, 1972. Ed was an avid woodworker and cyclist. He enjoyed golfing and playing racquetball. Member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Lions Club, Verdi Club and Lombardi Club.
