Elsie Mae Granny Parks- Vandiver, 87 of Rockford passed away peacefully on May 6, 2007. Elsie was born to Marion and Alice (Morgan) Morris on May 6, 1920 in Rector, Ark. She has been a Rockford resident for over 50 years. Elsie was employed by National Lock in Rockford for 27 years until her time of retirement. Elsie loved gardening and was a Charter Member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rockford. She is survived by her children Charles (Judy) J. Parks, Bill (Marilyn) Parks, Rose (Bob) Turner and Kay (Steve) Ruggles; 16 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren. Sisters Helen, Dorothy and Thelma, Special Nephew Don Cook. She is predeceased by her husband James Jack O. Parks, son James M. Parks, grandson Jeff Parks, great- grandchildren Olivia and Alex and 1 brother and 6 sisters. Special thanks to the Dove Unit Caregivers at River Bluff Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 9, 2007 in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Whitaker officiating. Interment will be in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 Pm Tuesday, May 8 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Rd..
