Fran (Wilson) Salivar passed away May 30, 2025 after a brief illness. Second daughter of Edward and Mary Rose (Haggard) Wilson, Fran married James C. Salivar (Jim) on August 16, 1980 in Brook Road Methodist Church in Rockford. Fran loved most genres of music, and she was an avid reader. She also loved helping others by making floral arrangements for special occasions, restringing softball gloves for her daughter’s traveling team, and organizing trips for her extended family. She never shied away from helping others.
She worked for BVR Aero technologies building flight instruments for 40 total years. Her longest job at BVR was working on the hydraulic pressure indicators for Boeing F-18 Jets. She always took pride in her work.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Salivar; daughter, Brandy Salivar; son, James Michael Salivar; sister, Janie Wilson Cook (Randy); estranged brother, Edward G Wilson; sisters of her heart, Linda (Jimmy) Lewis, Barb Dickinson, Tammy (Wayne) Lawson, and Debbie Holloway; numerous beloved nephews and nieces; and extended family. Predeceased by her parents, Ed and Mary Rose Wilson; brother, Larry Hedrick; sister, Sue Hinkle; nephew John Hedrick; sister-in-law, Char Varble; and in-laws Pat and Jim Salivar.
Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on June 7, 2025 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow. Burial will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Winnebago, IL. Luncheon to follow at John’s Restaurant 2914 11th St. Rockford, IL 61109.
