Gene Salvatori

Gene Gino Salvatori 76 of Rockford passed away Thursday September 6, 2012 in Provena Cor Mariae after a courageous battle with cancer.nbsp; He was born March 31, 1936 in Rockford , the son of Victorio and Bettina (Corirossi)nbsp;Salvatori.nbsp; He served in the Marines during the Korean conflict.nbsp; Gino wasnbsp;the owner ofnbsp;Ginos Pizza,nbsp;Mr. Gs Potato Chips and was owner/operator/salesman in the waste industry.nbsp; He loved to take his family on vacation, play Monopoly, race pigeons, and having breakfast with his buddies.nbsp;Gino was an avid Bear/Cub fan. nbsp;He was a member of the Venetian Club, Lombardi Club, East Rockford Pigeon Club and former member of St Ambrogia.nbsp; The family would like to thank, Heartland Hospice, Provena Cor Mariae and the Veterans Administration.nbsp;

Survivors include his three children, Tonia (Michael) Castiglioni of Rockton, Lori Salvatori of Loves Park and Michael Salvatori of Rockford.nbsp; Granddaughter, Tina (Mark) Winters,nbsp;great grandson Ryan and special friend Sandra Stafford.nbsp; Predeceased by parents, brothers, Ernie and Joe Grazioli and Sister, Rose DAgostin.

Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Monday September 10, 2012 at Fitzgeraldnbsp; Funeral Home, 3910 Rockton Ave, Rockford, Il 61103.nbsp; Visitation also Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 9:30am until time of servicenbsp;at 10 am at Fitzgerald Funeral Home followed by a burial at St Marys cemetery.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; In lieu of flowers memorials to be established by the family.nbsp;
