Genevieve Mae Farr

Genevieve Mae Farr 89 of Rockford passed away Sunday March 30, 2014 in Wesley Willows. She was born August 15, 1924 in Rockford, the daughter of Jasper and Bernadetta (LaFata) Tomenellie. Graduated from West high School, Class of 42. She married Allen D. Farr March 27, 1948 in Rockton, IL. He died February 8, 1996. She was employed by Woodward Governor Co. in Rockford and then Ft. Collins, CO. for over 25 years, retiring in 1981. Member of St Bridget's Catholic Church, the Charity Guild of the Catholic Women's League, and Woodward's 25 year club. She enjoyed many hobbies including, reading, gardening, sewing, crafts, and walking. She and Allen traveled extensively thru out the western United States and Canada as well as a trip to Alaska, Australia and New Zealand.
Survivors include her sister, Kathleen Piccione of Rockford. Sister-in-law Ruth Farr of Stayton, OR. Numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her parents, Husband, Allen. Sister Nancy Winkler and Brother August.
Funeral Mass at 11am Thursday April 3, 2014 in St Bridget Catholic Church with Father Christopher DiTomo officiating. Visitation from 10am until time of service Thursday in the church.
