Geoffrey Evan Huckabee, 29, Machesney Park, died peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born February 24, 1985 in Rockford, son of Kevin and Debra (Haug) Huckabee. Graduated from Harlem High School in 2003. Geoff was always a pleasant young man who loved all animals, especially his dog, Cirrus and cat, Angel. He enjoyed watching birds and hummingbirds held a special interest. He loved playing fantasy sports, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and a member of the Red Bird Nation. He also was a huge Green Bay Packer fan. A collection of baseball caps adorned his home and one of his main interests was keeping up with his family and friends on facebook, which was always important to him.
Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Debra Huckabee; brother, Chris (Rebecca Dull) Huckabee; grandmother, Mary Saxby; aunts and uncles, Jim and Debra Haug, Vicki and Dan Klonicki, Randy and Deb Huckabee, Michael Huckabee and many cousins. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Carol Haug; paternal grandfather, Oscar Huckabee, Sr. and uncle, Oscar Huckabee, Jr.
A celebration of Geoff's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Randy Young officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family.
