George Demarco

George DeMarco, Sr., of Rockford, passed away on July 20, 2011. Born on June 17, 1923 in Weymouth, MA; son of Anthony DeMarco and Rosa Diprisco. George entered the Air Force in 1941 and served nbsp;his country for thirty years, he retired out as a senior master sergeant. He graduated from University of Maryland while serving his years in the military and was a 4 th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Massachusetts. George always greeted with a smile and will be missed by his family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. James Woodman.

Survivors include special friend, Nancy Hansen; children, Georganne (Ray), Nancy (Edward) Miller, Barbra Kinard, Jeannie (Lawrence) Akaminie, Ann (Sam) Farruggia and George Jr. (Micky) DeMarco; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and brother, Jimmy. Predeceased by his parents, 8 brothers and sisters and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, July 25, 2011 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Father David Peck officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00am Monday at the church. To express condolences online, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
