Gerald D. "Jerry" King

Gerald D. “Jerry” King, 68, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born July 23, 1946, in Rockford, the son of Vernon L. and Kathryn (Scudder) King. Jerry was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the United States Army. He married Sue Ingelse on December 30, 1972. He worked as a machinist for A American Machine and Assembly for 22 years, retiring in 2012. Jerry loved his children, Lori and Jason.
Survived by his wife, Sue; children, Lori King and Jason King and brother, Phillip (Florence) King and Daniel (Eddie) King. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at North Love Baptist Church, 5301 East Riverside Blvd., with Pastor Ron Haese officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, assisted the family.
