Loving husband, father and brother,

Rockford-Gerald Beattie, 85, of Rockford died February 17, 2011 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Gerald was born December 29, 1926, in Lanark son of William amp; Maude Beattie.nbsp; He married Katherine Erickson on Nov. 26, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI.nbsp; He was a graduate of Lanark High School.nbsp; Gerald served his country in the Army, was a farmer in Genoa, and retired from Rock Valley College in the Maintenance department.nbsp; He attended Elim Baptist church, former member of Covenant Baptist Church, Marengo.nbsp; Gerald was a very loving and caring person who was devoted to his family.nbsp; Survivors include daughter, Marlene (David) Rambo of Bremerton, WA; son John Beattie of Rockford; Granddaughter, Jennifer (Mike) Morrello; sister, Shirley Eisfeller of Rockton; several nieces and nephews.nbsp; Gerald is predeceased by his parents, wife Katherine Beattie, and brothers, William and Edward Beattie.

Graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Willwood Burial Park with the Rev. Dean Parker officiating. Visitation from 10 am to 12 pm Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory ( Mulford Chapel) 1860 S. Mulford Road.
