Rockford—Harry G. Bauer Jr., 88 of Poplar Grove died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at OSF ST. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 11, 1925 in Chicago to Harry G. and Marion (Heinnman) Bauer. Harry served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. Married Violet Lucker on May 17, 1947 at Our Lady of Sorrows in Chicago. Harry worked for many Chicago newspapers mainly the Chicago Tribune as a stereotyper. Harry enjoyed raising Angel fish and taking care of his fruit trees.
Survivors; Wife, Violet; Children, Marion (Bruce), Raymond (Sonia) and Ronald (Anita); Grandchildren, Brent (Sadie), Brandon (Julie), Ronald (Zoe), Harrison (Rebecca), Joe (Karin), Brian (Rachel), Amy (Josh), Andy (Lynette), Patti, Erin, Haden, Julia and Leila; 15 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Frank (Leslie) Bauer. Predeceased by his Parents, Son, Harry, Sister, Shirley and brother, William.
