Hazel A. Raleigh

Hazel A. Raleigh, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 after a brief illness. Born April 15, 1923, in Little River, Kansas, the daughter of Frans Oscar and Lillie (Peterson) Ekholm. She married Robert Wayne Raleigh Sr. on December 26, 1942. Hazel was known for her love of golf, baking, cooking and decorating, especially at the holidays.

Survived by her sons, Robert W. (Cynthia) Raleigh, Jr. and Frans Richard (Pamela) Raleigh; daughter, Renee Raleigh; grandchildren, Robert (Nelly) Raleigh III, Mary Sunshine (Christopher Carden) Raleigh, Lucas R. (Coral Euler) Raleigh and Andrea R. (Lee) Groom; Frans Damian (Jackie) Raleigh, Erricka Raleigh; step-granddaughter Antonia (Christian) Benitez; 10 great-grandchldren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Robert, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for an establishment to be named at a later date.
