Heidi Marie Hasenzahl-Kearns, 34, Loves Park, passed away on Thursday evening, November 21, 2013 in her home. Born August 6, 1979 in Natick, MA, daughter of Donald G. Hasenzahl and Sheryl M.(Voecks) Semiche. Married Holli M. Kearns in Boston on August 18, 2013. Employed in sales by Verizon Wireless for over 7 years. Heidi loved everything pink, Coach purses, flip-flops, Star Trek, Harry Potter and she was a huge N'Sync fan. She was also a Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packer fan who loved her cats. Being organized was very important to her and she was very artistic and crafty. Heidi was fiercely loyal to her family and friends with a quick wit and sense of humor. She was a survivor, having overcome many challenges while always defining courage in her life.
Survivors include her spouse, Holli Kearns; mother, Sheryl (Jeff) Semiche; father, Donald Hasenzahl; sister, Gretchen (Alan) Beaman; sister, Andrea (Liss) Semiche; brother, Jonathan Hasenzahl; sister, Melanie (Dan) Olen; brothers, Jacque (Emily) Pariseau, Pierre (Rachel) Pariseau and Michael Hasenzahl; paternal grandmother, Jean Hasenzahl; step-grandparents, Donald (Barbara) Semiche; nieces and nephews, Alannah "Spalannah", Adelaide "Piglet", Jakey "Little Monkey Man", Jade "Diva" and Sabrina "Troublemaker". She is also survived by Holli's family, Lynn and Burk Marler, Kammi (Matthew) Pearson and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed by many special friends, including Ricky Walker and Mama and Pa Walker; the "Mean Girls": Kristin (Colin) Edmison, Becca (Ben) Tuula, Cammi (Eric) Weber, Mike Clayton and Ashley Langholf, the Tuula and Fosse families, Tracykins Climer Delghingaro and numerous other friends and co-workers who touched her life. She especially loved her cat, Annie and dog, Kenzie. Heidi's family would like to extend special thanks to Diane Forbes, April Zbrzeski, Jamie Shaw, Aileen Marsh, Allison Noonan, Steve Souza, Cat Giacone, Misty Opat and Rock Valley Athletics, Dr. Steven DiSanti and Dr. Michael Muto and his staff for giving Heidi another chance.
A funeral service will he held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & C rematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Derek Melin officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Heidi and the family have requested no flowers, but memorials may be made to Team Heidi Account, c/o PNC Bank, 4615 E. State St. Rockford, IL 61108.
