HELEN K. PODESZWA, 93, lifelong Rockford resident, died at 11:02AM, Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Rockford Memorial Hospital.nbsp; Born July 13, 1913, daughter of Thomas and Teofila Nosal Czyzeroski.nbsp; Married John S. Podeszwa in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on November 18, 1933.nbsp; Employed by Barber Colman for over 10 years.nbsp; Member of Cathedral of St. Peter and previously was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.nbsp; Helen was a loving mother and grandmother and had a very special relationship with her grandchildren.nbsp; She enjoyed traveling with her family and watching the birds and squirrels that came to her yard.nbsp; She was always very protective of the animals around her. nbsp; Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Phillip, Rockford; son, John Joseph (Evelyn) Podeszwa, Osceola, WI.; grandchildren Catherine Podeszwa, Duluth, MN. and John David (Miho) Podeszwa, Osaka, Japan; brother-in-law, Stanley (Edna) Podeszwa; sister-in-law, Helen Czyzewski and several special nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by her husband,. John, onnbsp; December 1, 1981;sisters, Frances Czerniewski and Sister Thomas Marie, O.S.F.; brother, Joseph Czysewski and son-in-law, Thomas Phillip. nbsp; A funeral mass will be held at 11AM, Thursday, February 15, 2006 in the Cathedral of St. Peter with Rev. Kenneth P. Wasilewski officiating.nbsp; Burial in St. Mary/St. James Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation will be from 10AM until time of the service at the church on Thursday.nbsp; Memorials may be given to the Memorial Fund at the Cathedral of St. Peter or have Masses said for Helen.
