Irene M. Bachrodt

Rockford—Irene M. Bachrodt, 94 of Rockford loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother returned to her heavenly father Sunday, March 16, 2014. Irene was born March 17, 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul and Margaret (Casey) Wickstrom. Attended North High School and won the State Championship in Tennis. Married Lou Bachrodt on June 28, 1941. Member of ST. Bridget Catholic Church, Advocate for Food for the Poor. Irene was a super grandma and great-grandma and a great cook.
Survivors; Sons; Lou (Denise) Bachrodt III, Richard (Margaret) Bachrodt and Pat Bachrodt; Daughter, Mary (Tom) Costello; Grandchildren; Bill, Craig, Sean, Shannon, Karin, Michael, Rachel, Rebecca, Patrick, Lauren, Jacqi, Danielle; Great-Grandchildren; Morgan, Hunter Daly, Emma Gray,Madeline, Liam, Lily, Andrew, Addie, Kellen, Hunter, Michael, Olive, Lily, Conner, Addison, Baxter and Mabel. Predeceased by husband, Lou, daughter Kathleen, grandchild Kelly Patrick and Brother Dick Wickstrom. The Bachrodt family would like to thank all the employees at Anam Care and Irene's caregiver Andjelka Vuckovic.
Funeral Mass 11 am Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at St. Bridget Catholic Church 600 Clifford Avenue, Loves Park, IL 61111. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 9:30 to 10:45 am Wednesday at church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Boylan Central Catholic High School Education Foundation.
