Jack H. Morgan

Jack H. Morgan, 88, Rockford, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 27, 2015. He was born November 18, 1926 in Rockford, the son of William and Louveta (Miller) Morgan. Jack was an Army veteran serving during WWII. On July 29, 1950, Jack married the love of his life, Maralyn McMahon in Rockford. Jack retired as the product manager at Greenlee Tool after 44 years, and worked part time in the hardware department at Sears for 20 years. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman and was a proud member of the Muskie Club.
Survived by his wife Maralyn; his children Mary Strand, Jane Porter of Houston, TX, Bill Morgan, Barb (Tom) Taylor, and Daniel (Sheryl) Morgan; his grandchildren, Julie Porter, Dr. Matthew (Kristin) Porter, Chris Strand, Kate ( Chad) Hillman, Justin (Alyssa) Taylor, Jessie (Justin) Tabour, Daniel (Amber) Morgan II, Kelsey (Jason) Liesen, and Drew (Lindsay) Morgan; his fifteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his dear friend Steve Benedict. Predeceased by his parents; two brothers, William and Dick Morgan; three grandchildren Brian and Erik Morgan, and Morgan Strand.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford, 61103. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave, with the Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. in the parish center at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.
