James J. Pavlik, 89, of Rockford passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born July 29, 1926, in Verdel, Nebraska, the son of Rudolph and Tillie (Dobrichovsky) Pavlik. James was a veteran serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Leona Dufek on November 14, 1953 in Rockford. James worked for JL Clark as a tool and die maker for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and Rockford Moose Lodge #163. James loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Leona; sons, Gary (Cindy) Pavlik and Kevin (Karen) Pavlik; grandchildren, David (Annie) Pavlik, John (Josie) Pavlik, Kylee (Joshua) Peterson and Nicholas Pavlik; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Mia, Matthew and Blake; siblings, Leo (Julie) Pavlik, Grace Pavlik, John Rudloff, Elaine (Charlie) Johnson, Blanche (Frank) Skokan, Jeanne Pavlik and Carolyn Pavlik-Larson, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, sisters, Jane Horacek and Edith Rudloff, brothers, Arvey, Louis, Edwin and Rudolph Pavlik.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday in the parish hall. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, assisted the family.
