James "Jim" Lee Tarr

James “Jim” Lee Tarr, 89, Rockford, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. He was born March 22, 1931, in Red Oak, IA, the son of Glenn and Opal (Essman) Tarr. Jim was a veteran serving in the Navy. He married Jane Jochim in Chicago in 1952. He worked as the art director at Boise Cascade in Addison, IL and later in Allerton, PA where he retired. Jim enjoyed playing golf and sharing his magic tricks with friends and family.
Survived by his wife of 69 years, Jane; his daughter, Deborah Nielsen of Ottawa and his son, Chad (Brenda) Tarr of Peoria; his grandchildren, Jim (Magan) and Jamie Nielsen, and Adam and Ben Tarr; his great-grandchildren, Ivy and Easton Nielsen, Jacob Jordan, Hadyn and Emma Hollingsworth; his brother, Robert (Betty) McCall.
