John L. Pryor Sr.

John Louis Pryor Sr., age 90, of Rockford, IL, passed away at home on November 22, 2023.

John was born on March 26, 1933, in Athens, Alabama, the son of Tony and Mrs. (Mathis) Pryor. John married Felicia A. (Cox) Pryor on March 19, 1953, in Rockford. They were married for 54 years before Felicia passed away in 2007. John was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. He worked for AT&T and Ingersoll Milling Machine Co. John proudly served our country and is a Veteran of the United States Army. He will be dearly missed as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and provider for his family. John had a great commitment to his family and a soft heart. He will be greatly missed.

John is survived by his son, John L. (Joyce) Pryor; daughters, Connie M. Davis, Alicia J. Pryor, Shelly (Nathanial) Gaskin and Claudette E. (Terry) Morgan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to Mercy Health Hospice, Alicia Pryor, Connie Davis, Stacy Richards, Mrs. Olive Blake and neighbors and friends for their ongoing care.
