Joseph H. Scheidegger

Joseph H. Scheidegger, 83 of Rockford ,died Sunday, June 22, 2008 in his home. Born February 8, 1925 in Dakota, son of Owen and Grace (Winn) Scheidegger. Was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Married Marilyn Hoppe on July 2, 1948. Joseph retired on March 30, 1990 after several years from Amerock Industries. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1952, enjoyed woodcutting and was an over all work-a-holic. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center and to the ACT Medical Group. Survivors include his loving wife Marilyn of Rockford; sons, Joseph Jr. of Rockford, Thomas of NV and Timothy (Jackie) of CO; daughter, Naomi Scheidegger of Rockford; grandchildren, Justin and Hannah; brothers, George, Roger, Donald and Ed Scheidegger; sisters, Nita Weir, June Legge and Donna Kersten; numerous nieces and nephews and a special cousin Harley Scheidegger. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Jacob in 1992; 3 infant daughters; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.   Memorial service Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Northwest Site, 4881 Kilburn Ave. with Pastor David J. Thies officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials to: St. Paul Lutheran Church or Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center. Fitzgerald Funeral Home assisted the family.
