Josephine Lucille Hurka

Josephine Lucille Hurka, 91, Rockford, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Bickford House. She was born March 20, 1925, in Chicago, the daughter of Andrew and Jennie (Bakotic) Plestina. She married George Hurka on March 2, 1946, and he passed away in 1977. Josephine worked in customer service at Midas International retiring at age 65 after 25 years of service.
Survived by her son, Guy (Kathy) Hurka of Rockford; her grandson, Colin (Maggie) Hurka; and her great-grandson, Callahan Hurka. Predeceased by her husband, George, and her daughter, Gale Hurka.
There are no services for Josephine planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Rock River Valley Pantry, 421 S. Rockton Av., Rockford, IL, 61102. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel assisted the family.
