Joyce J. Borg

Joyce J. Borg, 85, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born on November 7, 1922; the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Peterson) Johnson. Married Clarence Borg in Rockford on June 4, 1944. Joyce worked as a secretary with Boettcher & Simmon Architects and was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Joyce was a wonderful cook and a meticulous housekeeper.  She willingly worked in order to provide her children with a college education.  She was a caretaker for her husband during his later years. Survivors include her children, Joellyn (Eric) Kobler, Sun Prairie, WI and Brian (Caren Christensen) Borg, Clinton WI; grandchildren, Andrew Borg and Teresa Foster; sisters, Doris (Cliff) Spiess and Marian Erdenberg; sister-in-law, Doris (Don) Stevens; special cousin, Erica Lorine and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, parents, daughter, Susan Foster; brothers-in-law, Robert Erdenberg and Robert Lidester. Funeral service will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Mulford Chapel) 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr, Sr. officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N.
