Judith "Judy" A. Pniewski

Judith A. "Judy" Pniewski, 65, Machesney Park, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 21, 1949 in Rockford, daughter of Bernard A. and Therese (Waugh) Leigh. Attended St. Patrick Elementary School and graduated from Boylan High School in 1967. She was married to Thomas E. Pniewski in St. Patrick Catholic Church on June 14, 1969. Former active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Judy was completely devoted to her family and was always active with her grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; daughters, Tracie (Jim) Wedoff and Leann (Mark) Torrisi; grandchildren, Abby, Emma, Valerie, Sarah and Austin; sister, Jan Markell; special niece, Paula (James) Fagan; great-nephew, Gabe Fagan and extended family members, Vinny and Mitchell Mazzarisi. Predeceased by her parents; special aunt and uncle, Frank and Opal Zordan and special cousin, Nancy Auman. Judy's family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of OSF St. Anthony Hospice for the compassionate care that was given to her.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. John Evans officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 5-8p.m. Monday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also from 9:00 a.m. until time of the Mass on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
