Judith Ann Schmitt

Judy Schmitt, 85, of Rockford, died Friday, December 19, 2025. Born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, daughter of Gerald and Sadie Lampy. Received a BS degree from the University of Minnesota and a MS degree from the University of Iowa. She worked as a dietician at Swedish American Hospital and Rockford Memorial. She also taught nutrition at Northern Illinois University and wrote several articles on nutrition.

She is survived by her husband, James Schmitt, PhD, and their daughter, Stephanie Schmitt.
