Kathryn "Kay" L. Forsen

Kathryn “Kay” Lois Forsen, 87, of Rockford, passed away on September 17, 2025, at her home. She was born on December 28, 1937, in Rockford, the daughter of Alvin and Mabel (Broman) Kjell. She earned an associate degree from North Park College and a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University. She taught at Whitehead Elementary School for 30 plus years.

Bill and Kay looked forward to going to Minnesota every summer and to Phoenix every spring and fall to visit family and friends. They also traveled six times to Norway and Sweden. She was a member of Broadway Covenant Church and an avid lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs. She liked baking Christmas cookies and pies.

Kay is survived by her brother, Dave (Mary Jo) Kjell; niece, Deb (Lee) Tanner; nephew, Steve (Jenny) Kjell; and great-nephews Marshall, Sam, and Luke.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Broadway Covenant Church located at 3525 Broadway, Rockford, IL 61107.
