Lavetta GordenRobinson, 86, Rockford, died peacefully in her home after a brief illness on Friday, December 28, 2012.nbsp; BornSeptember 6, 1926 in Union County, Arkansas, daughter of Lavonia Ford and Curtis Levi Gorden.nbsp; The oldest member of her family.nbsp; She was looked to for leadership of the family.nbsp; She counseled many and opened her home freely welcoming whoever needed a place to stay.nbsp; She was known by many names but the one name most would agree on would simply be Mama.

Survivors include her children; Craig, Hardin Evoin) Robinson, Jr., Benny (Zinnia) Gorden, Alonzo Gorden, Linda Marie (Calvin) Awkward and Penelope (Marvin) Bruce.nbsp; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and friends.nbsp; Predeceased by her husband, Hardin Robinson; Sons, Pecolia Gorden, Charles Robinson, James Robinson, Johnnie Robinson, Cleveland Robinson and daughter, Annie Yvonne Day.
