Leland L. Baxter

Leland L. Baxter, 69, Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Born March 17, 1942 in Cherry Valley; the son of Rupert and Doris (Winterland) Baxter. Married Patricia Forster on July 11, 1960, in Belvidere.Leland was employed as a mold maker at Heritage Mold until his retirement in 2008. Leland was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. He was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by those who loved him. He also enjoyed woodworking and had a talent for fixing anything. Leland is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Teri Hilstad and Sherri (Dennis) Wirth; sisters, Eva (Ross) Rainwater and Charlene (Boyd) Hill; sisterinlaw, Sandra Baxter. grandchildren, Carina Perez, Crystal (Kyle) Joyner, Nicholas Wirth and Jordan Wirth; greatgrandchildren, Christopher Perez, Isabelle Perez and Alexzander Joyner. Predeceased by parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.Visitation from 5:00 8:00p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
