Lisa R. Maurici, 49, of Machesney Park, passed Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in her home. Born July 12, 1964, in Rockford the daughter of George and Tanya (Stephenson) Franklin. She graduated from West High School. Lisa married Dave Maurici in 1992. She worked as a server most recently at Backyard Bar and Grill. Lisa loved dancing and was a dance instructor at Arthur Murray. She had a wonderful personality and was good to everybody. Lisa had a kind, loving and gentle spirit and was appreciative of everything. Her children were the loves of her life and not only was she a great mom, she was also a loving aunt and niece.
Survived by her husband, Dave; parents, Tanya and George Franklin; children, Brett, Shon and Samantha; siblings, Wes (Bobbie) Franklin, Earl "Chip" (Stacy) Gable, Pam Stapleton and Angie (Steve) Scheidig; grandmother, Edna (Glen) Ballinger; numerous aunts and uncles, including special aunt Soapie and uncles, John and Lincoln; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephew, Huntar, Holden and Haiden Franklin, also nieces and nephews, William, Mitchell, Bobbie Ann and Jacob Gable; her husband, Dave's family, father-in-law, Alex Maurici Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve (Connie) Maurici, Sherry (Bob) Weyrauch, Debbi (Ken) Westphal, Alex (Theresa) Maurici Jr. and Mary Ann Maurici-Holcomb; nieces and nephews, Mary, Ann, Angela, Justin, Grant, Mya and Ryan; she was also very close with the Fry Family. Predeceased by grandparents, Ray and Anita Stephenson, George Franklin Sr. and Paul and Lucille Fry, mother-in-law, Mary Jane Maurici.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4055 North Rockton Avenue with Pastor Doug Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Lisa's name at a later date. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, assisted the family.
