Lois S. Tripp

Lois S. Tripp, 87, former Rockford resident, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Gilmer, Texas where she had resided since 2001. Born June 4, 1923 in McDougal, AR, daughter of Asie and Myrtle Compton Porter. Married Joe Tripp in St. Louis, MO in 1946. Lois was a loving, woman who adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Danny Joe (Carolyn) Tripp Gilmer, TX; grandchildren, Andrea Tripp, Kilgore, TX, Jennifer (Marvin Smith) Tripp, Metairie, LA. and Melinda (Robbie) Rouyer, Meterie, LA; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sisters, Alma Crown, Henrietta (Jake) Baumgardner, Vona (Bill) Mitchell; brother, Olen (Joyce) Porter; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Predeceased by her husband on February 4, 2001, parents and her sisters, Mildred Green and Pauline Brown.A funeral service will be held at 1 p-.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Alfred Hanna officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 5-7 p.m. Monday and from noon until time of the service on Tuesday.
