Lucille “Lucy” E. Burd, 86, Machesney Park, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Madison, WI. She was born on February 6, 1939, the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Sallee) Luxton. She married her first husband, David Genin, in August of 1960 and remained married until his passing in December of 1987. She later married James Burd in July of 1990, where they remained married until his passing in February of 2006.

Lucy had a fulfilling career as a secretary for many years. Her family and friends often spoke of her ability to connect with anyone, a testament to her social personality. Very religious, she found comfort and strength in her beliefs, which she shared generously with those around her. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Lucy's devotion extended beyond her spirituality; she cherished her family above all else.
