Lucille M. (Bertone) Manis Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Lucille M. (Bertone) Manis, 78 of Rockford, died on March 5, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center. Born May 8, 1928 the daughter of Luciano and Madanina (Tamberello) Bertone. Attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School graduating in 1942. Worked for 43 years at Amerock as an assembler retiring on July 1, 1990. Lucille loved to cook for her family and friends. She had a very special love for angels and because of that she has a beautiful angel collection. In her later years Lucille developed the knack for shopping. The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to: Dr. Razbadouski Dr. Khuu, Dr. McHugh, Heartland Hospice, Rosewood staff and nurses and the Radiology Department at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her children, Mary (Alex) Nevarez of Genoa, John (Jean) Manis of Rockford and Charles "Chuck" Manis of Winnebago; grandchildren, Grace ( Inosencio) Vega, Christopher (Heidi) Usrey, LouAnn (Genaro) Nevarez, Marianne (Luis) Nevarez, John Anthony Manis, Danielle Manis and Nicholas Manis; great grandchildren, Erica, Michael, Natalie, Heather, Hayley, Adrianna, Justin, Cassandra, Joshua and Jessica; special niece Mary Eterno and numerous additional nieces and nephews; very special friends, Mary Andrews, Mike and Sheri Henry and Helen Kleparski. Preceded in death by her parents, sister Lena (Eugene) Delaney and brothers, Dominic (Virginia), Joseph (Lucy) and Frank Bertone. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Franciscan Friars to officiate. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m..Visitation will continue one hour prior to Mass at church. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to St. Judes Children Hospital or Shriners Children Hospital in Chicago.
