Lyle R. Champlin

Lyle R. Champlin, 78, of Rockford, died suddenly in his home on December 30, 2012. He was born April 8, 1934 in Beloit, WI; son of Grant and Alexene Champlin. Lyle was one of 6 children. After serving in the Army, Lyle married the love of his life, Patricia Peterson on May 14, 1955. They were married 57 years. Patricia died on June 28, 2012. Lyle retired from General Forging Die and also worked at the former Bobs Hardware. He enjoyed helping people and talking to them. nbsp;Lyle and Pattie had 3 children; Bud (Janet) Champlin, Brian (Kelly) Champlin and Cindy Lou. He loved both of his grandsons, Ty Champlin and Connor Champlin.

He is survived by his 2 sons; brothers, Harold and Kenny Champlin and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Cindy Lou; sisters, Betty and Caroline and brother, Bud.

Lyle got his biggest Christmas wish, to see his Pattie again. They spent the New Year together with the Lord.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford with Pastor Roger Carlson officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. in East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI. Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 6 at the funeral home.nbsp; Express condolences online at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
