Margaret A. Cyrier

Margaret Anne Cyrier, 90, Rockford, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at UW Health. She was born on April 12, 1935, in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of George H. and Emily (Gage) Rosti. She joins her husband of 30 years, Richard Cyrier, after 8 years apart.

Marge dedicated her career to serving others as a registered nurse. She graduated from the West Suburban Hospital College of Nursing in 1956, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wheaton College in 1958, and completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois in 1978.

Outside of her profession, Marge had a passion for creativity, which she expressed through knitting, sewing, gardening, catering, and crafting beautiful cakes for every occasion. Her caring and generous spirit extended to her consistent donations to various charitable causes. Her faith was also incredibly important to her; she was an active member of Heartland Church with her husband, where she participated in Bible study, and later enjoyed watching Pastor Andy Stanley's remote services.

Margaret is survived by her step-daughter, Rosalie Cyrier (life partner, Steven Maeder), her step-son, Michael Cyrier (Valerie); her grandchildren, Hayley Mellish (fiancé, Evan Bianchi), Claire Mellish, Sabrah Cyrier, Serena Cyrier, Shanna Cyrier, and Mark Cyrier; her four great grandchildren; her niece, Lisa Oviatt, nephew, Gage H. Rosti (Mary), and niece Alayne (Mark); her 9 great nieces and nephews, and many other family members; she is preceded by her husband, Richard T. Cyrier, her brother, Gage Allen, her step son-in-law, Edward Mellish, and her nephew, Gary Oviatt.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
