MARIO BOTTA, 88 ROCKFORD - Mario Botta, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in his home. Born September 22, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY; the son of Louis and Ester (Campochiara) Botta. Graduated from the City University of New York receiving his BS of Engineering. He worked as an independent consultant for many years. Served in the US Army during WWII. Married Linda Mary Francis in Hong Kong on September 21, 1983. Mario enjoyed gardening, Barbecues, and the opera. Survivors include wife, Linda Botta; son, Mark Botta; daughter, Stephanie (Garett) Botta-Jackson, Andree (Bryce) Ellege, and Nancy (Aaron) Botta-Nunziato; grandchildren, Danikka, Brikenya, Mikkaela, and Kaleb Jackson, Kaitlyn, Jacob, and Hope Ellege. Predeceased by parents and sisters, Nancy Dolciamore and Ann Starrantino. Celebration of life time will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel.
