Marion "Mac" Mcneal

LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, AND GRANDFATHER
Marion "Mac" McNeal, 72, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in Alden Debes Health Care Center following a brief, courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 12, 1942, in Richland Center, WI, the son of Tony and Vera Marotta. Mac married Joyce Hill in Rockford on April 6, 1963. He worked in the shipping and receiving and later in the tool crib department at Greenlee Textron for over 40 years, retiring in 2004. Mac was a member of the Eagles Club Aerie #392. He enjoyed going to car shows, working around his yard, and could fix anything. Most of all Mac loved spending time with his family. Special thanks to Drs. Ross, Einhorn, Ponnambalam, Snedegar, Shiels, Patel, Kalweit, and Polizzotto, and the staff and nurses on the 9th floor of SwedishAmerican Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his sons, Micheal (Lora) of Belvidere and David (Kimberly) of Lake Zurich; his daughter, Terry (Randy) Stupka of Cherry Valley, his grandchildren, Marcus, Taylor, Kevin, Dustin, Shane, Tiffany, Jack and Aubrey; his brother, Anthony (Teresa) Marotta; his sister, Mary Marotta; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his brother, Stanley McNeal.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 23, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with Reverend Greg Carlson officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the funeral home and again from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday.
