Marion Reidelberger

Marion Reidelberger, 90, Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. She was born April 3, 1933, in Byron, the daughter of Henry and Alma (Sloggett) Fransen. She married Wilfred Reidelberger in Rockford on March 7, 1952. He passed away on January 7, 1996. After she and Wilfred started their family she used her considerable talents as a seamstress and tailor to start a sewing business in her home. She later went into the real estate business working for Bliss Adleman and later Combs Century 21. After leaving Combs she worked as a secretary at 1st Lutheran Church in Rockford until she retired at 80 years old. Marion was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in many areas. Her church was a very important part of her life. She loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed watching shows about them. Marions’ family was most important to her and she cherished the time spent with them.

Survived by her son, Frank “Perry” (Laurie) Reidelberger of Palatine; her daughter, Holly (Chris) Holm of Rockford; her grandchildren, Jacqueline (Seth Ashton) Reidelberger, Kristin Reidelberger, Suzanne (John) Pease, Sam and Peter Holm; her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Miles and Beck; her sister, Helen Mennenga; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wilfred; her sons, Robert and John; her 5 brothers, Robert, Henry, Ferd, Frank and Donald Fransen; her sisters, Mildred Schiferl and Stella Jean Abram.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 827 16th St. Rockford with Reverend Kevin Olson officiating. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford and again from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Tuesday at the church.
