Marissa E. Savalla

January 5, 1994 — May 14, 2024

Rockford

Marissa Estella Savalla, 30, heartbreakingly went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2024. Born January 5, 1994, in Rockford, Illinois daughter to Louis and Jesusa (Rivera) Savalla. Marissa was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and cherished member of her family. Marissa brought light and warmth wherever she went. Her laughter was infectious, her smile radiant, and her heart full of boundless love. She had a profound love for humor; pranking family members, telling jokes, and using her wit to bring joy to those around her. Marissa was not just a daughter, or sister, she was a source of strength, and a beacon of kindness to all who knew her. To her nieces and nephews, she was a bonus mother, affectionately known as the “reinforcer,” she also had an uncanny ability to uplift spirits with her words of encouragement and her compassionate presence. In her journey through life, Marissa touched countless lives with her selflessness and generosity. Whether it was lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or simply sharing her infectious joy. She made a difference in the lives of those around her. Her acts of kindness were not measured by their scale but by the depth of her empathy and the sincerity of her intentions. Marissa lived with courage and resilience, facing life's challenges with grace and determination. Her unwavering spirit inspired us all to persevere in the face of adversity and to never lose hope. Even in her struggles, Marissa remained steadfast in her faith and belief in Christ, her love for her neighbor, and the goodness of humanity.

She will be missed by those who loved her most, her parents Louis and Jesusa; her siblings Britteny Farmer, Kristina Savalla, Dianna (Larryel Jones) Savalla, Angelica (Terry Bounyavong) Savalla, Antonio Savalla, Brianna Savalla and Brenda Gonzalez; her nieces and nephews Scottie, Liam, Larryel, Giovanney, Carolina, Favian, Jude, and Theodore; grandparents Audon and Jesusa Rivera, as well as grandmother Rosemary Savalla; her uncles Audon (Nikki) Rivera and Joseph (Kathryn) Savalla; cousins Neesa (Ruben), Ashlei, Max, Sienna, and Giuseppe; Neesa’s children Lorenzo, Reyna, Remi, Ruben Jr. and numerous other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her great grandparents Santos and Cresencio Escamilla, Domonic and Josephine Ferro, Mark and Carmella Savalla.

As we reflect on her life, let us celebrate the profound impact she had on each of us and the world around her.
