Marjorie R. Hauser

August 24, 1938 — February 13, 2024

Marjorie R. Hauser, 85, passed away on February 13, 2024, in Rockford, Illinois. Born in Chicago, Illinois on August 24, 1938, daughter to Arthur and Frances (Walters) Elam. She went on to wed Robert C. Hauser on January 4, 1958, in Rockford, Illinois and they shared 41 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Marjorie enjoyed being active throughout her life. When she was younger, she enjoyed spending time making memories in her bowling and golf leagues, and she even learned to play tennis in her 40’s! She was also a very talented artist. She loved to use her talents to paint and find new ways to reinvent everyday items. She had many collections. Shoes, teapots, bird cages and dolls were all dear to her heart. Marjorie loved to spend time outside gardening and had a profound love of animals, dedicating countless hours training three different dogs to win awards in obedience and agility, caring for her horse, Dolly, and even rescuing wild rabbits with her family. But with all these passions, there was nothing she loved more than her family, and she showed that through her cooking. Chicken and dumplings was her signature dish, with chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Just ask any Hauser what their favorite comfort food is to find proof. She created so many fond memories with her family on countless vacations to Canada and other fishing spots around the country. These are the memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Marjorie will be dearly missed and remembered by her children Douglas (Anita) Hauser, Daniel Hauser, and Deborah (David) Denker; her grandchildren Robert (Amber Venable) Hauser, Dakota (Melissa) Longenecker, and Jaden Ferlita; her great grandchildren Noah, Tammy, Winter, and Jordan; her sisters Darlene Davis, Virginia Hauser, and Carol (Garland) Smith; numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and a very special mention to Warren Hauser for all the love and care that he has provided to Marjorie over the years. She is predeceased by her husband Robert; her parents and sister, Marilyn Spangberg.
