Mary Alyce Boyd

Mary Alyce Boyd, 95, Rockford, passed away November 9, 2011. Born September 16, 1916 in Gibson City, IL. Attended Illinois State and graduated from Brown Business College. Married Gale A. Boyd on March 20, 1943. Mary loved spending time with family and friends, as well as gardening and playing cards. She especially enjoyed family picnics and traveling. She worked as a secretary in the English department at Rock Valley College before her retirement. Member of Christ United Methodist Church, Marthas Circle and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survived by sons, Robert (Diane) Boyd of Rockford, IL, Roger (Regina) Boyd of Waterloo, SC, Scott (Cathy) Boyd of Ajo, AZ; grandchildren, Marcy, Brian (Christy), George, David, Ryan, and greatgranddaughter Madeline Mary. Predeceased by husband, Gale; brother, Ray Blissard and sister, Helen Carlson.

Funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL Visitation from 9:00 a.m to time of service on Monday. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. Donations may be made to charity of choice.
