Rockford—Michael L. Oliver, 46 of Rockford died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mike fought a long hard battle for his life because mike loved life mike fought to the end.

Born July 13, 1967 in Rockford to Gerald (Jerry) Oliver. Michael worked as a delivery man for a local truck company until becoming ill in 2000. Mike loved Nascar especially Tony Stewart and building model cars. Volunteered for the West Suburban Fire Department. Huge fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Washington Redskins. Everyone that met Mike had an instant friend that would make them laugh.
Survived by his father, Jerry; Brothers, John (Linda) Oliver, Jerry Leatherman and Mark Oliver all of Fort Wayne; Nieces Chicky and Kendra; Nephew Jerry Jr; Special Aunt Sis, Cousin Kristi (David Parson) Crosby,Donna and numerous other cousins. Predeceased by his grandma Oliver, Uncles Harold and Don Oliver,and Aunt Linda.
Funeral Service 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Riverside Chapel) with Rev. Randy Young officiating 3910 N. Rockton Avenue. Visitation from 6 to 6:45 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northwestern Memorial Hospital 251 E Huron St, Chicago, IL, US, 60611.
