Nancy J. Doran

Nancy J. Doran, 94, passed away on August 1, 2025. She was born on June 22, 1931, in Wabeno, Wisconsin, the daughter of Anton and Addie (Gordon) Fritsch. She earned her nursing degree from OSF St. Anthony Nursing School in 1952 and worked as a nurse at Alpine Fireside Nursing Home and River Bluff Nursing Home. She enjoyed bowling at Don Carter Lanes, gardening, reading, and traveling on Van Galder bus trips. She was a sweeting, smiley and easing going wife, mom, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her children, Ed (Adrienne) Doran and Michele (Ken) Neiber; and sister, Carol Zaugg. She is predeceased by her husband, Ed; parents, Anton and Addie; daughter, Deborah Doran; sister, Lois Peterson; and brother, Robert Fritsch.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and the Staff at TLC Living Community.

A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue Rockford, IL 61103, with a visitation prior to the service starting at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TLC Living Community in Machesney Park.
