Nancy C. Gustafson

Nancy Gustafson passed away at the age of 86 on August 3, 2025, in Saint Anthony Hospital after a long illness. She was born on September 11, 1938, in Rockford, Illinois. She was the daughter of Clarence and Francis Peterson.

She worked many years at Jackson Piano, but found her passion in the real estate profession, serving Rockford and the surrounding area for 25 years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing cards with friends and being a wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Nancy is survived by her children, daughter, Dawn (Carl) Bauman and son, Mike Gustafson; grandchildren, Taylor (fiancé Sydnie Smith) Rhodes and Payton (fiancé Kendall Anderson) Gustafson; great-grandchildren, Hendrix Rhodes, Palmer Rhodes and Channing Rhodes; nephew, Tom Gustafson; niece, Cindy (Tom) Benson. She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Gustafson; her parents, Clarence and Francis Peterson; and brother, Bill Peterson.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary or the Winnebago County Animal Shelter.
