In Loving Memory of Nancy Nuccio
August 14, 1942 – October 18, 2025
Nancy Nuccio, a lifelong resident of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 18, 2025. She was born on August 14, 1942, to Sereno and Mary (Fedeli) Ferraro.
Nancy grew up in Rockford’s “West End” and graduated from Saint Mary’s Grade School in 1956, Bishop Muldoon High School in 1960, and St. Anthony’s Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in 1963. She cherished time with her family and especially enjoyed the joyful chaos of family dinners.
After completing her education, Nancy began her career as a Radiology Technician at St. Anthony Hospital. On November 30, 1963, she married the love of her life, Benny Nuccio, at Saint James Catholic Church. Benny preceded her in death on August 18, 2019. Together, they raised two children: Tracy Krahmer and Carl Nuccio.
Nancy was a devoted Catholic and a longtime member of Saint James Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan for 13 years and volunteered in the school library. Her generosity extended to the Cornucopia Food Pantry and the Cherry Valley Library, where she gave many years of service.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Nancy was also an avid gardener and passionate cook, known for her beautiful yard and delicious meals. She never went anywhere without a cookbook in hand.
Nancy will be missed most by her daughter Tracy (Steve) Krahmer; son Carl (Valerie) Nuccio; grandchildren Emma Krahmer, Nick Krahmer, Maeleah Nuccio, and Lillian Nuccio; sisters Dorothy Noble, Mary Kay Spataro, Carolyn Pado, Margie Carroll; and brother Dennis Ferraro.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mercy Hospital for their compassionate care, and to all who offered support through cards, messages, visits, and prayers.
