Nereo Casas Villegas

Nereo Casas Villegas, 52 of Rockford passed away unexpectedly on September 17,2024 surrounded by his family. Born on September 21, 1971 in Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Nereo Casas Trujillo and Juana Villegas Nuñez.

A strong, hard working, charismatic and loved man who worked endlessly his entire life. He dedicated his life to his family and was a cowboy at heart who loved to dance. For him there was nothing more important than family and friends. He enjoyed trips to the park with his daughters and grandchildren, a good meal and family gatherings.

Nereo is survived by his life partner Ana Rosa De La o Herrera whom he loved immensely; his daughters Jasmin Abigail Casas and Nayeli Denise Casas; his son in law Julio Cesar Lopez; his granddaughters, Jocelyn Britzel Lopez, Joana Leticia Lopez, Julisa Marie Lopez, Jimena Isabel Lopez, Jasmin Eliana Lopez, and Jesenia Abigail Lopez; his beloved grandson, Julio Cesar Lopez; his bonus daughters Cindy and Blanca Ceja; his siblings, Pascual Casas Villegas, Julieta Casas Villegas, Alma Rosa Casas Villegas, Jose Manuel Casas Villegas, Miguel Angel Casas Villegas, Irma Alicia Casas Villegas, Jesus Casas Villegas, Jose Guadalupe Casas Villegas, and Esthela Casas Villegas; he will be missed by many nieces and nephews and remembered by numerous beloved friends. He is preceded by his father Nereo.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford IL 61108. A Funeral service will follow the visitation at 5:00 p.m. at the Mulford Chapel. Burial is to take place in Cieneguillas, Zacatecas.
